Mayetta, Kansas – Growing up, 16 year old Koby Minnis, a.k.a. Big Worm, had a love for dirt track racing. He dreamed that one day he would have his own race car. With the help from his mom and dad, Koby’s dream came true. In 2015 he got his first IMCA Hobby Stock and he ran his first race.
Koby hasn’t forgot his love for his bicycle, his first real race car. Koby raced his bicycle in his parents backyard on a racetrack he called Horse Shoe Raceway. In hopes of getting other kids as excited as him about racing, he has decided to giveaway two new bicycles at Thunder Hill Speedway this Saturday, July 29th.
After hearing about the bike giveaway, Retta, the manager on the fan side donated two new bicycles for the giveaway as well. Thunder Hill has decided to buy safety helmets for the new bicycles to keep the children safe.
One boy and one girl from the ages of 7 to 12 are eligible for the 20″ bicycle drawings and one boy and one girl ages 2 to 6 are eligible for the 16″ bicycles. Each winning child will receive a helmet.
All four IMCA classes will be racing for a chance in the Pit Pass Liquor Victory Lane.
Pit gates will open at 5:00 p.m., drivers sign-in closing at 6:30 p.m. Drivers meeting and racing to follow. Pit passes are $25.00, with kids 12 and under $10.00.
General admission gates open at 5:00 p.m. with adults $10.00 and 12 and under always free. Coolers are allowed for a $10.00 fee with canned beer only. No outside food or drinks.
Thunder Hill Speedway would like to thank Koby for his enthusiasm and love for dirt track racing and his and Retta’s generous donation to our next generation of racers. Remember to bring a friend and their children.
