Mayetta, KS – Thunder Hill Speedway has celebrated a strong 2014 up to this point of the season. IMCA racing in the Midwest is still alive and kicking and Thunder Hill is proof. The racing action has been second to none, droves of fans have enjoyed the races and it’s going to continue this Saturday night, August 2, for Heinen Repair Service Night at the races.

Heinen Repair Service is a proud supporter of Thunder Hill Speedway. Heinen Repair, is not only a sponsor of Thunder Hill Speedway but they are also the class sponsor for the IMCA Stock Cars. Bill and Nick and his staff enjoy the races just as much as the fans do.

Saturday night the fine folks from Heinen Repair Service will be out in the crowd talking to fans about their service and the great products they have to offer. Displays and more will be provided so fans can get a first hand look at what they might need around the house.

Heinen Repair Service, conveniently located five miles southwest of Valley Falls, Ks has been family owned and operated since 1984. Heinen Repair Service started out as a one-man farm equipment repair shop and has grown over the years to include automotive, construction and small engine repair, and lawn and garden equipment sales. Together, with their employees, Bill and Nick have created a service-based business that provides exceptional customer service.

Thunder Hill takes pride and appreciates everything that the sponsors provide for the fans and racers. This week is just another chance to bring one sponsor even closer to the spotlight!

IMCA RACING AT IT’S BEST!

There will be a lot of action going on in the grandstands and there will be even more action jumping off on the Speedway. After last week’s Oren Covert Memorial Race the competition is getting stiffer week after week. Only 6 Championship Points Nights remain before Thunder Hill crowns their champs of 2014.

RECAP FROM LAST WEEK’S RACES…

Danny Holt has 3 wins. Larry Mzhickteno

Last week’s Oren Covert Memorial saw a lot of exciting racing action. In the BSB Manufacturing IMCA Modified Feature Danny Holt drove by Clay Hale and held him off to take home the prized Tool Box and special Trophy presented by the Covert Family. Marvin Griffith Jr. took control of the Heinen Repair Service IMCA Stock Car Feature and took home a dominating win. Tough, competitive, racing at the front of the Bad Boyz Bail Bonds IMCA Hobby Stock Feature saw Tyler Hinrichs score the win after the 1st and 2nd place cars got together on the front stretch. Former Track Champ, Eddie Schwope Jr., raced his way to an impressive victory in the Belleville Motor Sports IMCA Northern Sport Mod Feature.

As the stretch run comes down and the competition gets tougher look for this week’s action to be better than ever!

BSB Manufacturing IMCA Modifieds…

IMCA Mods are typically 3 and 4 wide at Thunder Hill. Larry Mzhickteno

Danny Holt is having a great 2014 season. Last week Holt scored his 3rd win of the season and it looks like he has the momentum to carry him to victory lane again before the season ends…. Jeff Jones, winner from two week’s ago, might have had something for Holt but fans would not find out as contact coming to the front sent him to the rear along with his chances of winning 2 weeks in a row…. There is a solid battle going on at the top of the Modified points. Matt Stallbaumer is just 10 points back of Holt with 6 races left. Will both of the those two battle it out for the championship or will a ‘dark horse’ come into the picture?…. So far this season there have been 42 different drivers race in the Modified division and the weekly average of Modified entrants is 23 per race night. Not to shabby of an average when some tracks are struggling to get Modifieds.

Heinen Repair Service IMCA Stock Cars…

Marvin Griffith Jr. multiple feature winner. Larry Mzhickteno

The IMCA Stock Car class is a popular one at Thunder Hill Speedway… Several drivers carry a large fan base with them each and every week. This full bodied cars resemble the cars on the street, they put together some of the most exciting racing and it’s growing in popularity… This season there have been a total of 32 different drivers register points at Thunder Hill Speedway… There have been a total of 6 different winners in victory lane this season in 10 races…. That means 60% of the time you are seeing a new winner in victory lane. An impressive stat that fans like…. Last week Marvin Griffith Jr. was the fan favorite in victory lane. It was his 2nd win of the season and the fans showed Marvin their support after the race was over…. It’s a wild points race in this division as the top 5 drivers are separated by a total of 28 points! It’s going to be a good battle to the finish for the championship… Matt Haid currently has the points lead, but he will have to go on the offensive if he is going to win a championship.

Belleville Motor Sports IMCA Northern Sport Mods…

It was a wild ride for Jacob Crowell. Larry Mzhickteno

What can you say about this class? They are fun to watch, they are exciting and you never want to take your eyes off of a single Sport Mod race!… Last week’s feature got underway with a bad tumble for Jacob Crowell. Crowell barrel rolled several times down the back straight after contact with another car. Crowell’s Sport did it’s job during the crash protecting the driver and the rescue crew at Thunder Hill also did it’s job admirably…. Just like the Stock Cars there is a great points battle going on in this division. Jeremy Pittsenbarger is the leader, but Aaron Hilderman, Curtis Dreasher and Luke Stallbaumer are within 12 points of the leader! I think they call that an old fashioned barn burner!!!…. Bryan Rigsby got off a solid 2nd place run last week after suffering some sub par performances in the previous weeks… Just like the Modifieds, the Sport Mods can boast a weekly car count average of 21 cars per week. A strong and competitive field each and every week. Six different winners have visited victory lane in the Sport Mods too. Fans see a new winner 60% of the time in this class…. It wasn’t until race #6 before Dusty Leonard would become the first racer to repeat in 2014.

Bad Boyz Bail Bonds IMCA Hobby Stocks…

Win #2 for Tyler Hinrichs. Larry Mzhickteno

Don’t look now but there is some heated competition in the Hobby Stock ranks. Last week there was a lot of rubbing and racing out on the speedway. Hopefully this week cooler heads will prevail and we will see another great Hobby Stock Feature at Thunder Hill Speedway… Tyler Hinrichs scored his 2nd win of the season last week. Does he have the momentum to repeat again this week? Time will tell, but we do know that this has been a tough division to win consecutive features. Only Brian Stich has been able to win back to back features in 2014… Travis Burger is in control of the point standings at this juncture. Burger has a 21 point lead over the 2nd place competitor, Mallory Stiffler and Burger has yet to make it to victory lane! How tough is the competition?… There are several drivers who have knocked on the door for a feature win but just haven’t got the job done. It leads us to the question of who will be the next first time winner in the Hobby Stocks? I will go out on a limb and say it will be (fill in name here).
